Mr. R’s Light and Airy Newborn and Family Photos :: Burlington MA Photographer

This sweet family of three came to my studio from nearby Burlington MA for their new arrival’s newborn photos. And Mr. R might have been brand new, but he was a big boy–and had a full head of dark hair! He was such a great baby, even when he was awake! But then he fell fast asleep and let me pose him. This session was about half and half newborn photos and family photos. Dad played baseball so brought along his glove. I really love the photos of Mr. R in his daddy’s baseball glove.

Before any session I send parents a styling questionnaire. This allows me to get a good idea of what parents want. For this session, it was all about light and airy newborn photos. Mom specifically mentioned neutral, ivory, beige, blues for the color scheme. And the reference photos she sent were all light, bright, and white. I love dark and moody photos as much as the next person. But getting the chance to do a session almost entirely full of light neutrals reminded me how much I love the light and airy photos, too!

Since mom and dad wanted a good portion of the session to be family photos, it allowed me to do some of my favorite family and parent poses. If you’re looking for posing inspiration for family or parent photos with a newborn, this blog post is a great place to start.
