Easter and Spring Child Portraits

In Studio Easter and Spring Portraits for Children and Babies

I love getting to offer seasonal portrait sessions. And there are so many fun occasions to celebrate with photos! Over the past couple of years I have really embraced the Spring and Easter baby and child portraits. In the past I had a real, live bunny in my studio for photos. In the last few years that became more difficult to plan, so I started offering in-studio photos without a bunny. But fear not, thanks to the magic of technology and editing I am able to add a bunny in during the editing process if that’s something you’re looking for! Even without the Easter aspect, these indoor spring photos are still so much fun. I have a really great time designing the different set designs for these sessions.

Last year it was these barn doors draped with faux flowers and greenery. Some twinkle lights added just a little extra whimsy. I can’t wait to share this year’s spring and Easter child portraits set design with everyone!

Mini Sessions vs Full Sessions for Spring Photos

I typically offer seasonal or holiday mini sessions a few times a year. These sessions are limited and usually only one or two days are offered. But that doesn’t mean they are the only way to get seasonal portraits! I love when clients book full sessions and want to give them a seasonal spin. In my studio I have so many different props and accessories that I am definitely able to use during any session. Booking a full session is also beneficial for many families. While the mini sessions like these spring and Easter child portraits are a great option, they are not the best option for everyone. Some kids take a while to warm up to a session (even with my assistant and I who have a ton of tricks up our sleeve!) which can make the limited time available during a mini session a challenge.

Also, for clients looking for outfit or set changes, a mini session just isn’t feasible. With a full session we can incorporate the seasonal touches while also having some non-seasonal portraits–a win-win!
