Billerica Outdoor Fall Family Photos :: The D Family

I met up with this Billerica family last October for some outdoor family photos. The weather was wonderful. The leaves were changing. And this family was so much fun. This was my third year photographing them for fall family photos. It’s always so much fun to catch up with these families and see how much their little ones have grown over the course of the year. Miss H was full of energy and great to work with. She was smiling and laughing the whole time. We were even able to accomplish a quick outfit change for Miss H! This session is such a great example of why a full family session can definitely be worth it. Mini sessions are so much fun and I am grateful that I am able to offer them. But for some families, a full session really is the best option.

Styling Ideas for Fall Family Photos

I get asked a lot about styling for family photo sessions. Whether they’re in my studio or outside, choosing what to wear for the whole family can be a daunting task. This family is a great example of how to look effortless, comfortable, and stylish during your session. Everyone looks comfy in their clothing. And everyone is decked in layers to be ready for any change in weather. While I have complete control over the temperature inside my studio, we do live in New England which means the temperature can change at any minute. For fall photos I always recommend layering. Sweaters, jackets, vests, scarves are all good options. Another thing to keep in mind is the shoe option! With outdoor photos there can be a bit of walking to find the perfect backdrop. Plus I love the shots of families walking hand in hand.

All in all, if you’re looking for clothing options for fall photos that still have a pop of color I highly recommend drawing inspiration from this family. I love that mom is in neutral colors while dad has a pop of blue. And Miss H draws everything together perfectly with her floral dress. Perfect family coordination!
