Mr. C’s Cake Smash Photos :: Southborough MA Photographer
Mr. C came to my studio from Southborough to celebrate his first birthday with fun and festive blue and silver cake smash photos. Cake smash sessions are always some of the most fun we have in the studio. And that is because the photos are all about letting loose, having fun, and getting a bit messy! We typically start off the session with some family portraits and some solo shots of the birthday boy or girl. And then the real fun (and mess) begins with the cake smash! For this cake smash we stuck with a more simple theme, focusing on the blue and silver/gray color scheme. In the questionnaire I send to parents before a session mama specifically mentioned how much she was hoping to get photos of Mr. C actively eating his cake. Incorporating Props Into Your Session
I have an abundance of props in my studio. These include everything from small flowers and butterflies, to larger ride on bikes and horses, and everything in between. And all of these props are available for use during sessions. But sometimes parents bring along props to include. I am always happy to help find the perfect way to incorporate these special objects into photos.
In this case, mom and dad brought along this truly stunning Noah’s Ark and animals. I had previously photographed Mr. C for his newborn photos which also included this Ark. I love when parents bring along something special and unique for portrait sessions. And there is definitely something extra special when these objects are involved for subsequent photo sessions as well. I also love the idea that Mr. C will have photos of himself with this special Noah’s Ark, and will also have it in his own room. All of the props that I have available in my studio are beautiful and look fantastic in photographs. But when the props are brought from home there is definitely a little added something. This Noah’s Ark was actually made especially for Mr. C by a family friend. But for similar handmade and special props I always suggest looking on Etsy first!
This balloon arch had LED lights. This is super popular right now! And it’s easy to see why–they are so much fun and perfect for photos!
