This gorgeous mama came to my studio from Boston for her maternity photography session. This session was so much fun. It included 16 month old big brother-to-be which is always so special. He was beyond adorable and I am sure he will be a great big bro. It’s not always easy to wrangle toddlers during these sessions. But between my assistant and myself we are able to make sure that everyone is happy and safe throughout the entire session. Whether this means hovering just out of the frame while mama is holding big brother, or keeping him occupied behind the scenes do that mama can just focus on herself.

Styling Glamorous Maternity Portraits

One thing I love about maternity portraits is that it gives me the chance to focus on an expecting mother and do everything I can to help her celebrate the beauty and joy involved in pregnancy. As someone who has been pregnant, I know that it can be hard to find yourself beautiful. But as a maternity photographer who has photographed more expecting mamas than I can count, I can tell you without a single doubt that every mama is gorgeous.

Before any session I send a questionnaire to get an idea of what clients want in terms of styling. This mama was very clear with what she wanted–some nude, some including her son, and some with flowing white cloth or gowns. I think we managed to incorporate everything this mama wanted to get a truly glamorous, stunning session. The gowns and cloth are all pieces that I have in my studio for clients to use during their sessions.
