Outdoor Easter Portraits :: MA Child Photographer
Picture it: February 2020. I was prepping for my Easter and Spring Mini Sessions that were scheduled for late March. Lots of families were booked in and ready for their portraits with a real, live bunny in my Andover, MA studio. Fast forward to mid-March, just a few weeks before the mini sessions. Enter: Covid. There was so much we didn’t know about it. And the best thought at the time was to stay far, far away from people. We were first advised NOT to wear masks, then advised TO wear masks, but couldn’t find any to actually wear! So, (along with a mandate from the Governor) I made the tough call to postpone the Easter sessions “until the curve flattened”. Which as we know now, was a joke.
A few months later, Bun-Bun our beloved bunny, the star-of-the-mini-sessions himself, had passed away. I was so upset we missed our final year with him! But I was determined to find a bunny and to be outdoors and make it as safe as possible. These outdoor Easter portraits sessions were going to happen!
That’s when I found Animal Adventures Family Zoo & Rescue Center in Bolton, MA. “Easter” minis were in August that year, but we felt safe being outside and still wore our masks! The first year at Animal Adventures was a success. They actually have tons of bunnies. We were able to find a great setup with a woods-like background and all the kids had a blast! It might not have been our traditional Easter mini session set-up, but we made it work!
