Chelmsford Newborn Photos :: Baby T

chelmsford newborn photos

This little guy and his family came to visit my studio from Chelmsford for his newborn photos. And while all newborn sessions are exciting, this one was just a little bit more exciting than most. Baby T’s parents are good friends of mine. Not only were they super excited to welcome baby boy number 2, but so was I!

I get asked pretty frequently about including big siblings in sessions like this Chelmsford newborn photo session. Of course these decisions are totally up to the parents. But personally, I think including big siblings is a great idea. Not only does it help the big brother or sister feel included, but these photos make such a great keepsake to have. I love being able to capture the beginning of a bond between siblings.

Chelmsford Newborn Portraits Styling Choices

For the most part, the colors in this Chelmsford newborn portrait session were kept mainly neutral. But there were a few exceptions. For most of Baby T’s solo portraits, he was wrapped in either dark gray or ivory and on a white fur. These are classic and timeless colors. It’s important when choosing the color scheme to think about where these photos are going to go. If you are planning to have these portraits hanging up, then think about what will go with your walls and decor. Another important thing to keep in mind is that they might not always be hanging where you’re putting them now, and your decor may change. If you want portraits that will go with anything, neutral is a good way to go!

For the rest of Baby T’s Chelmsford newborn photos, we added some personal touches. He became a little football for some, and we even added in a dumbbell for another as both mom and dad love a good workout. Props and accessories like this are a great way to personalize newborn photos. Since these portraits were taken around the holidays, we made sure to get a seasonal shot of baby T and his big brother.

A very important personal touch for this Chelmsford newborn photo session was the Superman apparel. Baby T’s big brother was a micro preemie and spent his first four months in the NICU in Boston. I photographed him for the first time for his 4 month photos. And I’ve photographed him a few times since. To read more of his story check out this post from his second birthday.

This guy and his new baby brother are proof that little boys are superheroes in disguise! (Check out the post from big bro’s first birthday photo shoot to see more superhero fun!)

Creating a Storyboard from Your Portraits

Included in this blog post is an example of a storyboard. Storyboards are a great way to display photos in your home. In this case, baby T and his big brother are in the middle of the storyboard, with solo shots of baby T on each side. There are so many different possibilities with storyboards. If you’re interested in a storyboard, but unsure how it will look in your space, I can help with that. I can create a custom wall art mock-up using a photo of your walls to show you exactly how it will look. And this doesn’t just have to be with storyboards. I can create these mock-ups for any printed wall art, canvases, or framed artwork. Below is both the storyboard I created from this Chelmsford newborn photo session, and an example of it hanging on the wall in a living room.
