Wenham Baby Photos :: 6 Month Old M

Baby M and his parents came to my Andover MA studio from nearby Wenham for his 6 month baby photos. And seriously, could this boy be any cuter? I’m obsessed! He was so happy and smiley throughout the session. Even when we had him in his birthday suit for some truly adorable photos on the fur rug. You know you have a happy baby on your hands when they can tolerate numerous outfit changes and still give smiles as contagious as these ones. Is it even possible to look at these photos and not smile?! I don’t think so.

Also that denim vest and beanie combination? Mr. M is definitely cooler and my stylish than I am!

What Is A Sitter Session?

Throughout the course of baby’s first year, there are many different milestones. First smile, first word, first steps, first birthday are some of the big ones. But another big one is baby being able to sit on their own. Every milestone deserves to be celebrated, because each one is exciting. A sitter session does just that: celebrate the super exciting milestone of sitting up! Sitter sessions are always some of my favorite sessions to photograph.

There are a few reasons why we love sitter sessions. For one, baby is able to sit up on their own, but typically aren’t able to walk or even crawl. This means baby still isn’t quite mobile enough to crawl or run away (at least not quickly!) But since baby is sitting up, we are able to utilize props in different ways. Or, if you’re not a fan of props, we can just have baby sitting up proudly. Prior to this stage, all photos must be taken lying down on or sitting/laying inside of a prop to make sure that baby is as safe as possible. But not anymore! Plus, the 6-9 month age range is so much fun. Their little (or big) personalities are coming out in full force, which is so much fun to see. And unlike during newborn photos or even the three month age, baby is fully interacting with us during their photo shoot.
