We’ve all seen the absolutely hilarious photos from “mall santas” and I’m sure most of us have them from when we were kids. And while there is something classic and nostalgic about them, I’m here to tell you there are better Santa photo options! For four years now, I’ve had Santa himself come to my studio for Santa Claus mini sessions. Let me tell you, he is the real deal. Seriously, he’s amazing. The mini sessions are short and last about 15-20 minutes. But that’s plenty of time to get amazing photos of your little ones with Santa. Pictures With Santa
Obviously not every child is great around strangers. And the same goes for jolly Mr. Claus himself! But after four years we have quite a few tricks up our sleeves. Even for the kids who seriously dislike Santa at first, we are able to get amazing shots. And honestly, sometimes those ones end up being some of the best! If you don’t believe me, scroll down to see how Santa rolled with it when one of the little ladies was simply not feeling it. It’s pretty adorable! Like I said earlier, Santa is pretty amazing at what he does, and he’s able to work with all the kiddos that come to see him.
And of course where Santa’s involved, there’s always a little magic. These portraits with Santa are the perfect time for me to have a little fun and add some magic and sparkle to the photos. The magic of technology!
For these Santa photos, we have a few different backdrops set up. One is a super cozy and nostalgic setting with a fully decorated Christmas tree and some vintage props. The other is my winter woodland set up. This backdrop is one I have wanted to do for so long, and never had the space for it in my old studio. Well, now I can finally have the scene of my dreams–and hopefully of yours, too!
