Best Boston Cake Smash Photographer :: Mr. M
This cutie and his sweet family came to my photography studio in Andover, MA from Boston so that I could help celebrate his first birthday with a cake smash. This was not my first time seeing them. I had also done her maternity photos and his newborn portraits. And since this session, the family has come back for another maternity session for baby number 2 and their new baby’s newborn portraits. I say it a lot, but getting to see little ones (and their families!) grow is one of the most rewarding aspects of my career as a photographer. Especially families as fantastic as this one!
Styling Inspiration For Cake Smash Photos
For both mom’s maternity photos and Mr. M’s newborn session, the styling was all about clean and classic. We continued with this styling choice for his cake smash session. I like to call this styling classic with a twist. The colors were kept either neutral or blue. And I adore the baby blue color of his first outfit. The blue pops, especially in the family portraits where mom and dad are both in muted blue tones. Each outfit change was better than the last. The little white romper is beyond adorable (and those thighs!) And there are few things I love more than a bow tie.
For the cake smash the blue color scheme was continued with balloons in shades of blue and white that perfectly matched the ombre birthday cake. The custom cake topper that mom and dad brought along added the perfect little pop of gold. And the classic with a twist continued, too. After all, what’s more classic than blue jeans? I love the idea of using blue jeans in a cake smash. Gap and Old Navy have some great options and are always my go-to for classics.
Creating A Wall Gallery With Your Art Work
When it comes to displaying your brand new art work in your home, there are many different options. The two most popular are framed prints and canvases. The choice between these two can be difficult, but we are here to help you choose the right one for your family and your home.
Our complimentary viewing sessions and wall art mock-ups are all about helping you make the best choices for you. Do you know the photos are going to be hung in a playroom or child’s bedroom? Then perhaps a canvas would be the right choice for you, since there’s no need to worry about broken glass should it fall off of the wall. Do you have a very specific decor style? Then we can help you choose the best frame to fit your space. No matter what, by using photos of your walls and your images, we can create a mock-up like the one down below to help you choose the best way to display your portraits.
While this living room is a sample one and not the client’s actual living space, this is a great example of how the styling for your session can be planned out beforehand. In this case, the blue of the decor matches the blue in the photos perfectly. If you have a certain color in your home, then let us know before your session and we can work it into your photos!
