Andover MA Newborn Photography Studio :: Miss S
Miss S and her family from Lexington came to my photography studio in Andover MA for her newborn photos. This meant she had to share the spotlight with her big brother. And the two of them were perfect little models. And how handsome is big bro?! Scroll down to the bottom of the page to see a portrait I shot of him. I just couldn’t resist! I had already photographed big brother for both his newborn session AND his cake smash session.
Our goal is to make these newborn portrait sessions as easy and stress-free as possible for both baby and parents. If you want to know more about the behind the scenes of newborn portrait sessions, check out this post: Top 10 Tips to Get the Most out of Your Newborn Session.
Styling Choices For This Session
For Miss S’s newborn session, the colors were kept mainly neutral. For the family portraits, mom, dad and big brother are all in shades of cream. Miss S gets to be the focal point, and the pop of color, with her light pink wrap and her floral headband. This is a great way to style family portraits. Everyone else is in coordinating neutrals, which makes Miss S the pop of brightness. Even when the photos are in black and white, Miss S is still the focal point thanks to her accessories.
For the portraits of Miss S on her own, I utilized floral props, lacy wraps, furs, and headbands to create visual interest without using too many colors. Miss S was a little rockstar for her portraits, which meant I could change her headband to match the different props she was in. Little accessories like headbands and wraps are a great way to add a little pop of color or glam to a photo. I have plenty of options in the studio, but if you want some adorable accessories of your own I suggest Etsy as a great place to start!
After Your Newborn Portrait Session
After your session, it might seem a bit overwhelming trying to decide what to do with your beautiful photos. These newborn photos are such great keepsakes, and as your little one grows you’ll want to have these portraits as a reminder of when they were so tiny. Which is why having them hanging on your walls is so special. But which photo should you choose? Should you go with framed artwork or a gallery wrap canvas? Which size works best for your space? These can all seem overwhelming but my team and I are here to help.
Send me a photo of the wall you want to display your photos on and I will create a custom mock-up using your walls and your photos to show you what it will look like! This takes all the guessing out of the equation and makes sure that you will receive the artwork you will love.
