Miss E’s Robot Cake Smash :: Boston Photographer
Cake smash sessions are some of my favorites. They’re all about having fun and getting messy. What’s not to love?
Of course, as fun as the cake smash portion of the session is, most of the time we take the opportunity to take some portraits before the cake comes out. One of my favorite shots from this session (and there are a lot!) could actually be considered a blooper. Miss E’s scrunchy face during the family portraits was just way too cute not to share. This photo is a great example of how sometimes these photoshoots might not be “perfect” the entire time, but that’s okay! My goal during these sessions are to make sure everyone (mom, dad, baby, everyone) is as comfortable and stress-free as possible.
Using a Theme in a Cake Smash
When I found out that Miss E’s cake smash was going to be robot themed I was thrilled. Cake smash sessions are the perfect time to get creative and have a little fun with the theme. And the robot theme is a great one!
As far as color schemes went, dark blue, gold and magenta aren’t colors that I typically use for cake smashes, which just made me love it even more. Plus Miss E’s tutu matched the robot on her shirt (and on her cake!) which made the entire thing even more adorable.
When it comes to cake smash sessions, themes are always a good idea. Whether the theme is just a color, or something baby loves, or inspired by a book, the choices are endless! These sessions are all about fun, which make them a great time to get colorful and crazy. In the past I’ve done everything from unicorns to robots to vintage themes.
