Medford Newborn Baby Photos :: Mr. J
Sweet baby J came to visit my studio from Medford for his newborn photos. He brought his mamma along with him for the ride. Dad used to play baseball, so we made sure to get some photos of Mr. J with some baseball props. Dad couldn’t make it to the session, so this was a great way to include him.
Mr. J was a great little model. We keep the studio nice and toasty warm to keep newborns sleepy. When they’re well fed and warm, they usually stay asleep which makes for the perfect sleeping baby shots. Mr. J did peek open one little eye. Whenever I capture these shots, I feel like I’m capturing magic! They definitely don’t always happen.
Styling for Newborn Photos
Styling for a newborn session is pretty easy for the parents. At least compared to a lot of sessions. For the most part, babies tend to be swaddled for their photos–or naked! There’s nothing quite like the naked baby shots! This means that the only styling choices are colors and props. Anyone who has come to my studio knows that I love props. And I have so many to choose from. For this newborn session, the colors were kept darker and on the neutral side. Grays and blues with pops of white and brown paired perfectly with the rustic dark wood accents. They also made a great backdrop for the photos with the baseball, glove and bat. Together with the dark colors they made for a very old time-y feel. A great thing for newborn photos!
