Greater Acton Newborn Photography with Baby R

Baby R came to visit my studio from the Greater Acton area with her parents and big sister. I first met this awesome family at big sis’ newborn portrait session actually. Dad is from Ireland and we incorporated a few props as a nod.

Baby R was sleepy and cuddly, giving me only the teeniest glimpse of her eyes while she was in posing with mom and dad. And her big sister was so adorable with her. I love the little kiss she gave her new baby sister. Also, how amazing are big sister’s blue eyes? So beautiful! I was able to get some close up shots of Baby R’s lashes and lips, the tiny little details parents want to remember perfectly. One of my favorite things to do is include personal props from home. Dad is a soccer coach so in this case, that meant Baby R’s first soccer ball! This adds the perfect fun touch to the newborn session, and I always encourage parents to bring along some props to play with!

Styling For This Newborn Session

One of my favorite things about the styling for this newborn session is giving a nod to big sister’s newborn session. I love the continuity. We used the same soccer ball and the same moses basket.

Baby R’s big sister was wearing blue so for the shots of the two of them I used the slightest pop of blue under a sleeping Baby R. I love the way the blue works with the white and the dark brown wood. For a majority of the session little R was swaddled in white. When she wasn’t swaddled in white she was in this great sage green color. We incorporated the sage green into the session for her Irish background. But not only did this green work great with the light brown fur, but how amazing is the combination of green with the yellow and orange headband? This color scheme is giving me a 1970’s vibe and I am slightly obsessed now.
