North End Yoga :: Boston Photographer
Do you yoga? I do! Well, I used to. I’ll admit I have been slacking. Just looking at these photos again gives me motivation to start again! Every once in a while I get to do something a little different and this session is exactly that. North End Yoga has introduced a new series of classes geared toward mama and baby, toddler yoga and mom and baby pilates fusion. While normally I only get the chance to photograph one family or little one at a time, when I visited North End Yoga I was able to interact with numerous mamas and babies in a group setting. Yoga is wonderful for the mind and body. Starting your kiddos on the path young is such a great idea.
About This Session
Not only did this session give me the chance to explore portraits I usually do not get a chance to do (yoga poses with babies and toddlers!) but I was also able to play around with light. Light is such a huge part of photography, and in this case the light streaming in through the big windows of the studio made for some wonderful group shots of the mamas and their babes. Although the location and purpose of the shoot may have been different than my norm, the emotion and interaction between mama and baby is always what I am striving for. One of my favorite shots is this first one, two perfect little yogi subjects. My other favorite is the last one in black and white. Mama and baby are so connected and having a blast practicing yoga!
