This Waltham family below is keeping a wonderful tradition and custom for their baby. That is to honor and make note of their baby girls 100th day of life. At one time in history surviving 100 days for both baby and Mom was a feat and reason enough to celebrate. I love this concept. Even though mortality rates are certainly a lot lower than they once were, surviving 100 days is no less of a miracle, to me. I have photographed hundreds of newborns and watched them grow. The cycle of life, with time marching on, never ceases to amaze me. Sometimes in our modern world we move too quickly. Stopping to realize and revel in the joy of a life lived for 100 days so far is a concept I can truly embrace.
Miss O was so full of smiles for her 100 days photo session! Until, well, she wasn’t. And that is very typical and expected for small babies. I am asking a lot out of them and they are in a new environment. Babies get overstimulated by nature, it’s just the way it is. I photograph fast and efficiently and do often hear from parents they couldn’t believe I was able to get what I did. I just love these special portraits of baby girl O at this time in her life. I’m elated I get to see her again soon when she is sitting and again when she reaches the monumental milestone of one year!
I love a three generations photo. This is so special for all of the family members involved, least of which is baby O herself. She will have this family portrait to look back on when she herself is a Grandmother 🙂
