Mr. R’s 2 Year Old Child Portraits in Massachusetts
I met up with two year old Mr. R and his parents in Massachusetts for his child portrait session. Turning two is a perfect occasion to grab some portraits! I saw this child through every milestone during his first year so it was so cool to hang with him as a 2 year old. I wanted to share the first image I did below because I love the idea of showing just how small our children are in context to the world.
In the first photo below, Mr R is holding the hands of his two parents and takes a moment to peer back and see what I’m doing (OK I may have hollered or otherwise gotten his attention!). Sometimes it’s easy to forget just how little they are. They certainly have big personalities and opinions. But perhaps I’m projecting my two three year old’s personalities on toddlers everywhere! As a 2 year old child, Mr R is learning about the world in an explosion of exploration and curiosity. Mr R in particular was a treat to photograph, as always, as he loved the camera and the camera certainly loves him! Happy birthday baby boy R (because he’ll always be a baby to his Mama :)).
Styling Inspiration from these Child Portraits
When it comes to outdoor portraits, it’s important to remember that you won’t just have a perfectly neutral backdrop. Instead, there will be color and texture everywhere. This family chose to go with blue clothing and I think that is a great idea. Not only is blue a classic and timeless color choice. But it also creates a gorgeous contrast against the colors of nature behind around them. Not to mention, they match Mr. R’s baby blues perfectly.
