Sometimes three week old baby’s don’t mind falling asleep at the studio and being posed. Sometimes, they do! This gorgeous baby girl is a fantastic example of why it really doesn’t matter at all if your baby is 3 weeks old and you have been so busy you forgot to book a newborn photographer. Awake or asleep I have 7 years of experience under my belt. That experience really and truly does matter. Not only in the safety and handling of your tiny little baby, but in soothing your baby and being able to achieve beautiful portraits of your baby asleep or awake.
For infant baby O I hit the craft store. Mama mentioned in her pre session questionnaire a shot with flowers. So, a nest with flowers she would have! Repurposing and creating this prop was enormously rewarding. The resulting image below was fantastic. Baby girl’s eyes are open and draw you right in. Not every newborn session results in a photograph with baby’s eyes open. This is very special as well.
Sometimes Grandparents accompany parents to their portrait sessions. I love this portrait of baby O with her Grandma, snuggling. This portrait will be very special for baby O one day.
