It’s definitely starting to get chilly out there (hello Fall!) which means it’s time to start looking forward to the holidays! Although honestly, is it ever too early to think about Christmas?!

Christmas photos are such an iconic thing, and if you scroll down you’ll definitely understand why. Christmas only comes once a year, so why not take advantage of the festivities for family photos? Every year my Christmas mini sessions are super popular and sell out quickly. For some families, the focus is totally on the kiddos during these sessions. And some families, like this first family down below, takes advantage of the mini sessions to update their family portraits. The sessions are only 15-20 minutes, perfect for busy families and restless kids. But don’t worry, there’s still enough time to get some perfect shots.

Christmas Photo Styling

Both the first and the third families featured today have older kids, and there is always something so fun about seeing the older kiddos all dressed up in their holiday gear. All three of these families are the perfect example of how to dress for a holiday session. Tons of neutral colors and classic prints. Plaid is a perfect Christmas print, and the way family number one included it in dad’s tie and big brother’s shirt is perfect.

In family number two, little miss matches her mom with a little frills and lace. And the lace next to little brother’s chunky knit sweater creates a great contrast in texture while still using the same color palette.

And the two sisters at the bottom of the post got the best of both worlds: pretty dresses and super cozy onesies! Nothing says Christmas quite like matching cozies!
