Fall Mini Sessions

One of my favorite times of year is definitely the fall. And fall is a perfect time for outdoor family photos! Family portraits are such a great thing to have, and since fall is such a gorgeous time of year in New England, it just makes sense to take advantage of the foliage!

This is why I offer mini sessions during the fall. Mini sessions are 15-20 minutes. This might not seem like a ton of time, but it’s definitely long enough to get some great shots of your family–and there’s no better time of year to do it than the fall! Spots are limited and I only offer mini sessions once a year, so they book up fast. Both of the families featured in today’s post are families that I have photographed before. I love being able to meet up with “my families” time and time again. It’s such a treat getting to witness these kids growing up!

Since we don’t get as much time with mini sessions, we have to make the most of what time we have. This means less poses, but this first family rocked these poses. I love the shots of this family sitting on a blanket spread out on the ground. The blanket adds a touch of coziness and makes it look like this adorable family is on a picnic. And how sweet is this little lady giving her dad a big smooch?

I’ve been photographing these two brothers since big brother was a baby and I always love getting to catch up. They both have such great smiles, I can practically hear them laughing when I look at them. One of the positive things about taking family photos outside is the freedom for kids to really act like kids. If they want to run around, they can. These brothers had so much fun playing together, and getting to capture that fun and freedom in a photograph is one of the reasons I love these sessions.
