Every so often I get requests for extended family portraits. What is that, you ask? These portraits are multi-generational. We are able to capture a portrait of everyone plus each family separately, plus my favorite, kids and grandparents. At this point my studio can’t handle a huge crowd, so for families with 10 or more, we have to wait until the weather is agreeable and we can get outside. But this family was only nine and nine people can fit comfortably in my studio.
The family consisted of two loving grandparents and both their son’s family and their daughter’s family. There were three beautiful grandchildren. I really enjoyed this session! I might be a bit of a type A, but it really paid off with this session. I had a specific shot list and order and we were all on the same page BEFORE anyone even stepped foot in my studio. I was warned that the toddler grand daughter may be a bit shy in front of the camera so I was armed with songs and toys and we did it. We got a few big smiles! I am particularly proud of the second photo down where she has a big grin with her parents and grandparents. Such a fantastic portrait to have for the entire family.
