Making Memories with Santa: A Magical Family Tradition That Grows Every Year
There’s something so special about seeing familiar faces return to my studio each holiday season. One of my favorite parts of being a Boston area Santa photographer is watching families grow, and capturing the same little moments, year after year, that turn into cherished keepsakes. This sweet family has joined me for Santa mini sessions North Shore MA every year since 2018. Back then, it was just their oldest daughter, sitting shyly in front of Santa as he made his signature “shh!” pose in the background. Now, several years (and another daughter!) later, we’ve recreated that same photo each season. And it’s become one of their most treasured holiday traditions. I love being part of this annual Christmas photo tradition for this family.
If you’ve ever thought about starting an annual Christmas tradition, let this be your sign that it’s never too late, but it’s definitely time to start this year. These north of Boston family Santa photos make such a fun family tradition.

A Holiday Tradition That Tells a Story
Each photo from this family’s Santa mini sessions tells a piece of their story. You can see the girls grow taller, their smiles become more confident, and the pure wonder of Christmas stay just as bright. These portraits aren’t just cute holiday photos, they’re a timeline of childhood magic, love, and family connection.
It’s the kind of nostalgia that parents hold onto long after the kids have stopped believing in Santa’s sleigh bells. And that’s exactly why these sessions mean so much. They become a beautiful record of the season that slips by too quickly.

The Ease and Joy of Santa Mini Sessions
If you’ve ever braved the mall for Santa photos, you know it can be a lot. Long lines, tired kids, rushed smiles. It’s not exactly magical. That’s why my holiday portraits with Santa are designed to be calm, comfortable, and full of joy.
Your children get genuine one-on-one time with Santa in a beautifully designed set (no chaos, no pressure). Each session is short and sweet, just enough time to capture those real smiles and magical reactions that make the season sparkle.
Even in 2020, when we had to take Santa photos outdoors for social distancing, this family showed up. Because the tradition mattered. And honestly, those outdoor portraits have their own charm and memories attached.

Why Start a Santa Tradition Now
Whether your child is one or ten, there’s no “too late” when it comes to starting a new tradition. A yearly family Santa photo North of Boston is such a fun way to mark time, to look back each December and see just how much has changed.
And if you start this year? Imagine what these portraits will look like five years from now.
