A Wild and Joyful First Birthday Celebration :: Jungle Themed Cake Smash by Andover MA Photographer

Mr. S came all the way from Lancaster, MA to celebrate his first birthday with a jungle themed cake smash session in my Andover MA photography studio. And it couldn’t have been more fun! His mom chose a “Wild One” jungle theme filled with bold animal prints, lush greenery, and a dark green backdrop that made every detail pop. We added tree stumps, animal print balloons, and a stuffed tiger to complete the look. Mr. S looked absolutely perfect in his yellow outfit with a lion’s tail and a tiny crown fit for the king of the jungle!

Cake smashes are such a fun milestone to photograph. Especially when we get to play with themes that show off a little one’s personality. This studio cake smash session for boys was full of giggles, frosting, and plenty of wild fun!

From Bubbles to Snuggles :: A Full Birthday Portrait Experience

Before diving into the cake, we started with a few portraits on a classic dark backdrop. Mr. S wore his “Birthday Boy” tee and jeans while playing with bubbles and showing off his sweet smiles. These simple portraits are a great way to capture both the milestone and the personality, something calm and timeless before the wild fun begins!

Before the mess of the cake smash portion of the session, I made sure to get a few mom and son portraits. I always love including these in milestone sessions. Mom looked beautiful in black against the dark background, holding her happy little boy. These photos make the perfect addition to any birthday gallery and tell such a sweet story of the day.
