Ideas for Fun Christmas Photos :: Professional Portrait Photographer

So far on the blog this year we have discussed cozy Christmas photos. And we have discussed classic Christmas photos. And we have even discussed simple Christmas photos. Which means it is now time to talk about fun and colorful professional Christmas photos! Every year during these sessions I have two different back drops. One is on the darker wood flooring while the other is on the lighter wood flooring. Which typically means I have one darker and one lighter option. Something for everyone! And both sets make the perfect backdrop for all sorts of photos. Including getting fun and colorful. Matching pajamas are the number one way to get fun and creative. But they are definitely not the only option. Bright reds and greens are always the perfect option for Christmas outfits. And my favorite way to get a little creative when it comes to clothing is to go with fun textures. Velvets, corduroys, cozy flannel. All are perfect options for this time of year and look fantastic in photographs.

Whether you’re looking to keep it more formal, or have a little fun this holiday season, I have ideas for all sorts of Christmas photo sessions. During my mini sessions, families and children have only a limited 15 minutes. But don’t worry about the time limit. My assistants and I are a well oiled machine. We can have the whole family (pups included!) posed, smiling, and looking good for each photo. I have props (including toys) that can add the right touch to pictures and give kiddos something to distract them for the perfect candid photo.
