Spring Photo Styling :: What to Wear

Spring Photo Styling Ideas and What to Wear :: Andover MA Photographer

The days are getting longer. The air is (somewhat) getting warmer. And while personally I would love to get in a few more skiing days this year, I am still happy for what this means. Spring has sprung! With spring comes Easter, spring portraits, and all the pretty pastel colors. What better way to celebrate a new season than with a spring photo styling and what to wear guide? Below I have some inspiration photos from past spring sessions. Plus some links to some outfit ideas I am loving. This year I tried to change it up a bit and include some local shops and artists. Let me know what shops I’ve missed!

Local

We are so lucky to have some great local artists and boutiques that are perfect for special occasion clothing options. And spring photo styling definitely counts as a special occasion in my book!

First up we have Fritz and Gigi in Concord, MA. They have so many adorable options for kids of all ages. And their pieces are adorable and timeless.

Doe + Fawn is a woman owned shop in West Concord, MA that has a love for and focus on sustainability and connection to the outdoors and nature. They don’t only sell clothing, either. Definitely a fun one to check out!

GoodHearts Children’s Shop in Reading, MA offers unique and premium baby, toddler, and children clothes. And it’s definitely full of adorable pieces!

@SpicyJellybeanKids on Instagram is a local artist who handcrafts truly stunning pieces. Definitely check her out for a one of a kind outfit.

The Red Wagon in Boston, MA has been a staple since the 90s and their iconic roll neck sweaters are a classic.

Owen and Sage in Hudson, MA is a small business that focuses on small creators and sustainability–something we can all get behind! I love these sweat suits as an adorable, but cozy, alternative!

Nantucket Kids is a perfect blend of New England prep and southern charm. And I think these two outfits showcase that perfectly!

Boy

I only have daughters, so getting to look at little boy clothing options is always a fun treat for me. Whether you like to stick with neutrals or get a little more colorful for your spring photo styling, there is something for everyone. Below are just some of my favorites for babies, toddlers, and children. Cat and Jack from Target, Boden, and J. Crew are other fantastic options.

Girl

Pastel pinks and purples are always popular for little girls. But I tried my hardest to find blue, green, and neutral options this year for spring photo styling inspiration. Bella Bliss, Hope and Henry, and Zara are other great options for clothing.

Are you looking for ideas and inspiration for styling Spring photos? Whether your session is indoors or outside, it’s always fun to incorporate the season. Spring is all about light colors, florals, sweet animal prints, and classic silhouettes. There is something for everyone on the list–from neutrals to colors and everything in between.
