Mr. B’s Vintage Car and Gas Station Themed Cake Smash Photos :: Waltham MA Photographer
When Mr. B came to my studio from nearby Waltham to celebrate his first birthday with some one year and cake smash photos. I had previously had Mr. B in my studio for his newborn photos. So I was extra happy to see this little man and how much he had grown. He brought along big brother, Mr. J for these photos. I’ve photographed J a few times over the years, too. Since before he was even a big brother. I am always so grateful when families trust me to capture these memories of their kiddos. We started with family and sibling photos before the focus turned to the birthday boy. Some solo portraits to start and then the real fun began. Choosing a Unique Cake Smash Theme
For those who haven’t yet had a cake smash session in my studio, you might not know just how much planning can go into these photos. It is truly a collaborative effort all around. I email back and forth with parents leading up to the session, sending inspiration (from my own gallery and also found on Pinterest or social media), and getting a feel for what the session will be like. For some sessions, there isn’t a ton of back and forth since some are pretty simple or straight forward. And for others, the theme or props need to be discussed a ton. When it comes to unique cake smash themes this can be the case. For this vintage car and gas station themed cake smash there was quite a bit of back and forth. And I think it’s safe to say it was definitely worth it. I love how this turned out! The signs, the bunting, the little ride on car. Every piece of this cake smash set design worked perfectly within the theme.
