Mr. G’s 100 Day Old Baby Celebration Photos Complete with Angel Wings :: Arlington MA Photographer
There are so many wonderful milestones during a baby’s first year, but one of my favorites to photograph is the 100 day baby celebration. This session featured adorable baby G, who came into the studio to celebrate reaching one hundred days old with a beautiful portrait session that included parents and grandparents. I love any 3 month baby portrait session, but adding some cultural touches to baby celebration photography makes it even sweeter.
I absolutely love when families bring meaningful traditions into the photography experience. These sessions are about so much more than simply taking pictures. They preserve family traditions, celebrate an important milestone, and document a fleeting stage that passes incredibly quickly.
Why Families Celebrate One Hundred Days
For many families, reaching one hundred days old is an important cultural milestone. Historically, the earliest months of infancy were the most uncertain period for a newborn, making the first hundred days something truly worth celebrating.
Today, many families continue honoring this tradition through family gatherings, special ceremonies, and professional portraits. I love photographing these sessions because every family brings their own traditions and meaning to the experience.
Why Three Month Baby Portrait Sessions Are So Fun
One hundred day sessions often happen around three months old, which is one of my favorite ages to photograph. At this stage, babies are becoming far more interactive than they were during newborn sessions. Parents often start seeing those big smiles, stronger eye contact, emerging personality, and wonderful curiosity about the world around them. This stage is incredibly expressive. It is such a wonderful time to document before babies begin rapidly moving toward sitting independently.
Including Family In Milestone Portrait Sessions
Baby milestone photography is never just about baby. It is about preserving family connection during a season of life that changes incredibly quickly. For baby G’s session, parents and grandparents joined in for family portraits, which I always strongly encourage whenever families are comfortable doing so.
I am a huge supporter of including grandparents whenever possible. Multi-generational portraits often become some of the most treasured family photographs over time. Years from now, these images tell a much larger story than a simple milestone portrait ever could.
Simple Styling That Keeps The Focus On Baby
One thing I loved about this session was keeping the overall styling simple while allowing baby G’s personality to completely shine. We incorporated soft textures and timeless portrait styling while letting his expressions carry the gallery.
One especially sweet detail from this session was incorporating angel wings, which added a soft and meaningful touch to several portraits. The result was a gallery that felt classic, timeless, and centered entirely around this important milestone.
