Newborn Portrait Inspiration :: Babies and Sports
Maybe it’s because we live in the Boston area which is full of championship winning teams (both professional and college sports), but whatever the reasoning is, my clients love sports! And they definitely show their love in these photos of their newborn with sports memorabilia.
Because sometimes, sports are life. Or at least a big part of it.

Over the years I have photographed newborns with everything from footballs and basketballs to jerseys and helmets. And it isn’t limited to one sport. All the major ones have been included so far. I’ve included Red Sox hats (see above), and New England Patriots jerseys. Some parents want to represent their college teams, while others prefer to keep the sports connection more subtle. These knit hockey skates (below) are perfect for newborn photos.

Over the years I have even had the chance to photograph the children of some professional athletes. In particular, a few basketball players and a baseball player. So if there are any hockey players out there who need a photographer for your kids, I have someone I can recommend. (Hint: it’s me–ha!)

When it comes to adding sports memorabilia to photos, I get the appeal. Sports are more than just a hobby to most people. They are pastimes, something for families and friends to bond over. And for some, sports are even their profession. So why not celebrate them in newborn portraits?
