Floral Cake Smash Boston MA :: Miss L

Miss L celebrated her first birthday with me in my Andover studio. I had met her for the first time back for her newborn portraits. First birthday sessions are always some of my favorites. One year olds are fun, silly, and always learning. This makes photographing this age group a bit of a challenge, but a challenge that is always worth it. Miss L was no exception. She was so sweet, and gave me some great smiles. But I have to admit, I’m especially loving the sweet shot of her snuggling with her mama. So much love!

When it comes to cake smash sessions, the possibilities are endless. They’re all about celebrating the first birthday milestone. Sometimes this means getting crazy and colorful. But I love this session as an example of how a simple set up can still be beautiful. The white wood makes a perfect rustic backdrop. And the greenery adds the right touch of whimsy and nature. When you combine those, add in the gold writing on Miss L’s onesie and the slight pop of color from the cake, you have a winning combination.
