Family Photos Andover :: 2.5 year old Mr. D
I met up with this family from Andover for family photos. In the beginning, two-and-half year old Mr. D was a little shy and quiet. This is pretty normal for this age group. I am a strange person singing songs and making funny noises, so I can understand! But with the help of my assistant, he came out of his shell and opened right up as we sang to him and generally made jokes that are sure to make any toddler smile. He had a ukulele and was singing a song about an acorn. If only these had been videos instead of photos! So cute.
One of the funnest things about Fall has to be the fallen leaves. So, of course I had to take full advantage. Mr. D looks like he’s having the time of his life throwing the leaves around. And mom and dad both got in on the fun, too. Portraits definitely don’t have to be serious and formal, it’s important to have fun.
Styling Choices for Fall Family Photos Outdoors
There is nothing quite like Fall in New England. There’s a reason why people talk about our Fall foliage. The colors are amazing, which makes it the perfect time for outdoor family portraits. All of these colors can make it tricky to choose clothing for family portraits, but I’ve got plenty of tips and tricks in this blog post.
Color choice is super important for these photos. Not only do you have all the beautiful colors of changing leaves, but lots of leftover green and brown as well. It can seem overwhelming, but there are so many color choices that compliment the environment around you. Some of my favorites can be seen in this session. Plum, like mom’s shirt, is a great choice that compliments the environment while also being a pop of color. Navy blue, shades of mustard, and burnt orange are also great choices. Another important thing to keep in mind is texture and print. Plaid and Fall go together wonderfully, as do textured sweaters. All of these add variety and interest to photos.
