Hooray for the very big milestone of baby’s first birthday! Capturing your baby’s photos at this time is a fantastic idea. Usually (I say that knowing not all babies are the same!) right around 12 months, or one year, a baby has let go of a bit of stranger danger. If not, I certainly have a few tricks up my sleeve to make you and your baby comfortable. Miss C and her family came to my studio from Medford for her first year baby photos.
I met this Medford family right before the holidays last year. We took baby’s one year photos as well as family portraits and even extended family portraits. The grandparents were in town! I love being able to capture grandparents. I think these photos will be so important for baby girl when she gets older.
Styling For These Baby Portraits
For one year portraits, it’s all about having fun! Which is why it is the perfect time to get creative and colorful. Balloons are the perfect prop to celebrate the first birthday milestone. And I think the pink, white, and gold balloons were the absolute perfect choice for these photos. I love the way the balloons look tied to this precious wrought iron bed. I’ve used this bed for everything from newborn sessions to toddler sessions and it’s always a hit.
