The maternity session here was the first time I had met this family. They had just moved up north to Melrose, Massachusetts from the South. They were the sweetest, kindest people! The expectant couple brought along their adorable “big bro” and the original baby, their puppy dog. This puppy dog was bigger than the toddler and was super fun to incorporate in to mama’s belly photos.

The family was expecting their first baby girl. I wanted this session to be very special for them so we started at the studio in Medford, MA. We captured family maternity photos (including the dog!) and portraits of just the belly. There is a photo below that includes all 6 hands of the family … plus two paws from the canine variety. That shot was a first for me and I love being surprised.

Once we were done taking our photographs in the studio we ventured out to the woods. OK, not exactly deep woods, but woods none the less. There was a path I had my eye on that I had driven by a million times. I’d been dying to shoot at this path. Luckily this family was game. And luckily mama was game to wear my maternity tutu 🙂

We photographed maternity family photos in the beautiful fall foliage. We captured mama in all her absolute beauty with that baby bump. We ventured a bit further in to the woods to a lake and were able to get even more beautiful portraits this family can look back on and cherish for a lifetime.
