This session. This one. It is one of my favorite children’s outdoor photo sessions from last season. The kids were super adorable and happy, despite the rather chilly weather on the day of our session. In the fall I photograph a lot of “mini sessions.” However, this family session was a glorious, full fall outdoor session. We have so much more flexibility and ability to be creative during an hour long session. On this day we were able to move around the park and capture different settings -from brightly colored trees in the background to a beach- for a versatile gallery for the family.
If you’ve followed me for any length of time you’ve come to understand I may be slightly obsessed with Christmas. I loved that we were able to incorporate Christmas props for this outdoor session with the kids. Normally I’m in the studio with my props. So this was uber fun! This first photo below is one I may be recreating with my own girls this season!
If you’re wondering how to dress your kids for an outdoor fall family session I would say the mama absolutely nailed this one. She brought along a couple of options from Hannah Andersson that were perfect for the season, as well as portraits that would last the year long.
