A six month milestone photography session is a wonderful time to capture your baby’s growing personality. For Miss A’s six month sitter session, we combined timeless autumn portraits with a playful Halloween twist. This session is the perfect inspiration for anyone who is looking to add a spooky Halloween touch to any milestone. But the same basic idea can be applied to ANY holiday for a fun addition.

Can You Combine Classic Milestone Portraits with Halloween Photos?

Absolutely! Most of Miss A’s session focused on warm, autumn inspired portraits. She wore a brown dress with white accents and a dusty mauve outfit, with simple styling that complemented the season. We captured her sitting independently, smiling for the camera, and spending time with Mom and Dad. These portraits included family photos, sweet parent and baby moments, and individual images celebrating this stage of her first year.

Then we changed things up with a spooky, gothic inspired Halloween backdrop. Glowing candles, dramatic textures, and a few carefully chosen details were added. All of these gave the portraits a completely different feel from the rest of her gallery. Plus Miss A had a quick outfit change into a black dress to match the vibes.

The contrast was part of the fun. We were able to create a collection of classic milestone portraits that would feel just as lovely years from now. And then we had with a few Halloween images that captured the spirit of the season.
