Studio Family Newborn Photography by Andover MA Photographer :: Natural, Simple Newborn Photo Ideas

Baby Mr. M’s newborn session happened quite a few years ago, but I’ve been going through the archives and had to share. These Andover newborn photos were the perfect blend of simple and warm. His session took place in our Andover studio, where we focused on keeping everything timeless and classic, and placed a heavy emphasis on family newborn portraits as well. The color palette for this studio newborn photography session was all about soft, natural tones and classic black backdrops that never go out of style.

For the family portraits part of this session it was all about timeless with a modern twist. The plain black background allowed their bond to take center stage, keeping all the focus on the emotion and joy of welcoming their new little one. And for Mr. M’s solo photos it was all about classic colors like blue, gray, cream and tan.

Soft Neutrals and Cozy Textures for Baby M’s Solo Photos

For Mr. M’s individual portraits, we stayed with a neutral color palette of blues, grays, tans, and whites. These tones photographed beautifully against his delicate newborn skin and gave the session a calm, peaceful feel. Using color palettes like this is a great way to give your newborn photos a natural, simple look.

We used simple setups for these Andover newborn photos including minimal props, cozy wraps, and gentle textures. This way we could highlight just how tiny and perfect he is in these early days. Every little detail tells the story of his first days at home.

One of my favorite parts of photographing newborns in the studio is the chance to create images that feel both classic and deeply personal. Keeping the setups simple allows your family’s emotion and your baby’s unique features to truly shine.

Since Mr. M was born just before the holiday season, we also made sure to get a photo of him with a Santa hat. This baby’s first Christmas portrait was such a special touch!
