The session began with a few family groupings that included mom, dad, big sister, and even baby J’s grandmother. Against a darker backdrop, these portraits brought out a timeless and cozy feel. They were all about highlighting the sweet connections between generations.

We captured quiet moments of mom and baby and dad holding his new little one. Plus a touching portrait of mom, grandmother, and baby together, three generations sharing one frame. One of the most special parts of this stage was watching big sister gently hold her new baby brother. In some they were dressed in perfectly coordinating blue and white outfits. Dressed in soft pajamas and a little sleep hat, he looked absolutely precious posed on a white wooden bed, surrounded by soft textures. This prop is one of my absolute favorites (but to be fair, I say that about many of my props!)

We also captured a variety of cozy, neutral setups. Brown swaddles on warm fur textures or tan and gray backgrounds with matching hats. And even a sweet rustic setup with a bear eared hat in a wooden box. Each look stayed true to that light and airy newborn portrait style. All while adding just a touch of warmth and texture for depth.

Every newborn session feels personal, but this one had a few especially meaningful details. One of my favorite portraits featured Baby J on a white fur with delicate angel wings. This was added as a quiet tribute to a loved one. These images are both gentle and symbolic, capturing love that extends beyond the frame. We also made sure to include a close up of his eyelashes. These are one of those little details that parents treasure forever.
