Boston Area Studio Family Photos :: Timeless Winter Portraits of Three Adorable Cousins

There’s something extra special about cousin Christmas portraits, especially when they’re taken in a cozy, light filled studio setting. This Boston holiday studio family photo session featured three adorable cousins: 11 week old baby J, his big cousin J, and middle cousin Miss K. Set against a soft winter inspired palette of white, blue, and blush, these winter cousin portraits captured the simple beauty of family connection. From baby J’s adorable smiles to sweet cousin moments perfect for a North Shore MA holiday photo session, every image feels timeless enough to enjoy year round.

Studio Cousin Portraits with Baby and Older Kids

We started with portraits of baby J, just 11 weeks old and full of those perfect new baby stretches and sleepy smiles. Then came solo photos of his cousins, Big J and Miss K, each bringing their own personality to the camera. I always love capturing cousin sessions because there’s a unique mix of playfulness and tenderness that you don’t always get in sibling photos, especially when one of them is a brand new baby.

Miss K wore a soft blush dress that photographed beautifully against the all white setup, adding just the right amount of warmth to the winter tones. We also captured a few sweet cousin portraits of Miss K looking over Baby J, the kind of images that instantly feel frame worthy and destined to become family favorites.

Holiday Studio Sessions with a Timeless Look

Even though this was part of a Christmas session, we kept the styling for this portion simple and classic so the photos can be enjoyed year round, perfect for gifting, displaying in your home, or using on holiday cards. A white and blue palette with touches of soft pink and natural texture is one of my favorite ways to create a winter feel without leaning too heavily into holiday themes. Classic, timeless, but still seasonally appropriate. It’s a win all around!
