A Sweet Studio Newborn Session with Big Brother and Family :: Capturing Boston’s Most Precious New Arrivals

I’ve been at this job, a Boston area photographer specializing in newborn portraits, for over sixteen years now, so needless to say I have quite the assortment of sessions stored on my hard drive. And every so often, I find myself scrolling through older sessions. Recently in my scrolling I saw this one and it stopped me in my tracks. Sweet Miss V’s newborn portraits from a few years back in my Andover, Massachusetts photography studio. I’ve photographed this Boston family many times over the years, and it’s been so special to watch them grow. From photographing big brother Mr. M as a baby to meeting his tiny new sister for the first time, it truly feels like watching old friends step into a new chapter. I loved getting to be part of these sweet sibling and newborn photos.

And while this session was almost three years ago now, I can still remember it clearly. Isn’t it crazy how memory works?

A Studio Session Filled with Love and Familiar Faces

There’s something extra heartwarming about photographing a family you’ve known for years. Everyone slips right into place, very little awkwardness, just genuine connection and joy. During this newborn session, big brother Mr. M couldn’t have been prouder. He loved cuddling close and giving gentle kisses to his baby sister, while mom and dad soaked in those early days with their newest little love.

Miss V was such a dream baby, snoozing peacefully through most of the session and giving us the sweetest snuggly poses. We captured her solo Boston newborn portraits wrapped up in soft neutrals, and sweet shades of purple. And as for the family photos, they were filled with laughter and warmth.

From Then to Now

It’s hard to believe how tiny she was when I first met her! Since this session, I’ve had Miss V back in my studio a few more times to celebrate milestones and holidays. Each visit is a reminder of just how quickly these little ones grow. Looking back at these images makes me so thankful for the chance to document those fleeting first weeks, when everything still feels new and full of wonder. Being a Boston area newborn and family photographer is such a blessing for so many reasons, and this is definitely one of them.
