This fall extended outdoor family photos session in Andover MA was such a joy to photograph. It was extra special because this family isn’t just any family, they’re dear friends of mine and one of the families are actually my neighbors! I loved getting to spend the afternoon with their whole lovely extended family, celebrating the beauty of fall on the North Shore and the gift of togetherness with family portraits.
The golden sunshine and vibrant fall foliage created the perfect backdrop for these Andover MA fall family photos. Capturing an Extended Family Session
Extended family sessions are some of my favorites to photograph as a Boston area photographer because they highlight connections across generations. For this session, we made sure to capture every combination. This included everything from large group portraits to smaller family units and every sweet candid moment in between.
- Grandparents and Grandchildren – Some of my favorite fall photos are of the grandparents surrounded by their grandchildren, a true treasure for any family photo album.
- Individual Families – During extended family sessions, I always make time for each immediate family to have their own set of portraits. It’s so special for parents to have updated photos with their children, and for siblings to be photographed together. We also capture different pairings and interactions, whether it’s a child with a parent, siblings together, or even sweet moments with an aunt or uncle. These combinations highlight the unique connections within the larger family and make the gallery feel complete.
- Solo Portraits of the Kids – Each child got their own portrait, showcasing their unique personality and energy. Something that is always a priority for me in family sessions.
