Mr. B’s 8 Month Photo Ideas and Inspiration :: Billerica MA Photographer
If your little guy is sitting safely on their own, it is time for a sitter session! These milestone portraits are less about an exact age, and more about the actual milestone of sitting unassisted. This typically happens between 6-9 months and it’s a great milestone to have photographed. For one thing, at this age your little one’s personality is really starting to become clear. And it will definitely shine through in their photos. Plus by this point it’s much easier to get them to react, smiles and giggles are just about a guarantee. And depending on the kid, stranger danger might not be terrible yet. As the one photographing your kiddo I should also mention one great thing about this age range: they’re not quite mobile enough to run away from the set! Styling and Accessories for Baby Photos
One of my favorite things about these 8 month photos has to be the styling. From the clothing choices during the family photos, to Mr. B’s adorable clothes for his solo portraits, it’s all perfect. For family photos Mr. B wore a solid blue one piece. Mom coordinated nicely in a striped, neutral outfit. Dad’s blue and white print shirt brought more of that blue from Mr. B’s outfit while adding a little pizzazz. This is great inspiration for family photo outfits! When it came to his solo portrait outfits, they kept with the more muted tones in a lighter blue and a dark olive green. These are simple colors, not quite neutral but not bright and colorful. And great options for timeless baby photos!
This session also used a few props and accessories that I think are also great options for 8 month photos. And they’re things I have in my studio! The brown wooden bowl is one that I use for newborn portraits as well. These types of props are great to showcase how big your baby has gotten while also giving them a little support to sit in. Wooden car toys add a vintage and classic touch to these 8 month photos. And my much beloved teepee and faux wooden stump are other great options to add a little touch of whimsy or a boho feel.
