Miss B’s 5 Year Old Child Photos :: Andover MA Photographer
There are some things I look forward to all year. The cool crisp weather of fall, the holidays, the first sunny day of summer… and seeing Miss B for her yearly portraits! I have been photographing her since she was one and I have seen her every year since. Just this past October I photographed her for her SEVENTH birthday! I remember when she was a baby and now she’s a kid–it never stops being crazy to me. Today however we are looking back at a few years ago when Miss B was in my studio for her 5th birthday. These Andover child photos had an extra special touch making them all about whimsy and magic.

Styling Ideas for Child Portraits
When it comes to choosing clothing options for your child’s portraits the first thing to keep in mind is comfort. While it can be tempting to put them in whatever adorable clothing you love, you have to think about your child individually. If they’re the kind of kid who can wear anything and be fine, then you’re good to go. But if they hate itchy sweaters or tight clothes, they’re not going to be happy and you won’t get the same level of true smiles in their photos. But beyond the comfort level, anything goes for child photos.
In this case Miss B had a few different outfits. She had a darker, plaid option for family photos (perfect choice for family pictures for a holiday card!) and then a cream colored lace dress and leather jacket for some solo shots. But the real fun began when Miss B changed into a blue-purple ombre tutu for some truly magical photos. I love when parents aren’t afraid to have some fun during their kiddo’s portrait session. Five is a magical age and I love that Miss B got to celebrate that!
