Boston Newborn Photos :: New Baby N
Mr. N and his parents came to my studio from Boston for his newborn photos. We went for a neutral color scheme for these photos. I am drawn to this color scheme more and more lately, especially the monochromatic look. This is also a color palette that I find more and more parents requesting. Neutrals are a great way to make sure that baby’s newborn portraits are timeless and classic. Gray is such a perfect color choice. It’s soft, cozy, and truly goes with everything.
Our Sad Connection
During the photo shoot, mom had mentioned that the blanket Mr. N is wrapped in while on the bed was made out of her father’s pajamas. It was less than two months after I lost my own mom to pancreatic cancer so I knew I couldn’t ask any questions during the session or it was very likely I would lose it. I emailed her later inquiring about the pajamas. She told me that she had lost her father to pancreatic cancer and I lost my breath.
As someone who has been impacted by this kind of cancer, it blows my mind how often I encounter others who also have been. Before it entered my life and my family, I don’t know that I had ever known anyone who had lost someone to pancreatic cancer. Now I’m meeting people more and more often. The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCAN) is doing everything they can to try and raise awareness for what is called the world’s toughest cancer. If you have the time, please consider visiting their website to learn more about them.
