One Month Old Infant Photos with Miss E
To any parents out there who are worrying about their newborn being “too old” for portraits, Miss E and I are here to tell you to stop worrying! Miss E was one month old when she came to my studio with her mom and big brother. Typically, the age range I aim for with newborn portraits within 6-16 days of baby’s birth. This is done for a number of reasons, but one of them is because at this age babies are still sleeping through just about anything. A sleeping baby is key for some of the more popular newborn poses. However, like you can see by scrolling through the photos below, one month old can definitely still work for portraits. Miss E’s big bright eyes and little smile made quite a few appearances, but I was still able to get the “sleeping baby” photos, too. The best of both worlds!
Styling For An Infant Photo Session
This session is a perfect example of how pops of colors can still look, and feel, natural and neutral. For the most part, this session remained pretty neutral. Miss E was swaddled in shades of white and ivory, and laying on furs and blankets in shades of tan and gray. But, there were also a ton of different pops of color. From a purple bonnet, to a sage green blanket and matching headband. A set up with coordinating shades of blue, all the way to a pastel pink swaddle. Miss E’s infant photos contained (almost) all the colors of the rainbow, and yet still managed to coordinate with one another. This is a great option for parents who don’t have a set color scheme in mind. There’s always a way to work color into a shoot without it being over the top.
I just love this first portrait of Miss E with big brother. I was lucky enough to photograph his newborn portraits too!
