OK, so this was the first year I offered Easter sessions with a live bunny. After the success of our real live Santa in the studio this past Christmas, I knew I had to give it a shot. Annoying pun aside, I was definitely a little bit nervous! It’s tough enough simply photographing a baby and / or child. Why not add in a real, live animal to the mix with its own wants and needs?! No big deal.
Eight sessions later and I have to declare this year’s Easter bunny sessions a wild success. Bun Bun and Usa were the two bunnies charged with this Easter portrait task. They are both rescue bunnies owned and loved by Amanda and her Mom of the pet care company Amanda’s Four Legged Friends. They were extremely patient and calm with the babies and kids. Yes we are capturing adorable photos. But for the older kids having such a fun, hands on experience with the bunnies was something they’re not going to forget anytime soon.
This Andover family’s kids include a son, age 4 and twin daughters, age 3. It’s really no coincidence they found their way to my studio. We have been friends since before all FOUR of our girls were born just weeks apart, meeting first on the interwebs. This post is going to be an overshare, I can guarantee you that. But look at the portraits and tell me if you blame me!?
