Medford Newborn Baby Photography :: Miss M

It is beyond cool to look at these newborn baby photos from last October again. This Medford, MA family came to my studio just a couple of weeks after this gorgeous, perfectly little formed infant girl was born. Life is miraculous, it truly is. There is no further proof needed than to look at those rolls on baby M’s back in the first image. Because tiny baby rolls are my favorite! And because her pleasant and calm face while she slumbers reminds me of just how much of a gift life truly is.

I have been truly blessed to be able to capture these newborn baby portraits for so many Massachusetts families. “Baby As Art” is the business name of two women who I personally think pioneered the newborn photography art and style you see a lot today. They no longer work together as they live on opposite coasts of the US, but they were a huge inspiration to me 8 years ago when I started my newborn photography journey. Their photos were mostly about the baby. The accessories they used to style their babies were organic in nature, often neutral and soft. The babies were peacefully asleep and naturally so. There was a quiet and happy feeling that came over me when I looked at their images. I wanted to create this for my clients and have worked tirelessly over 8 years honing in on my newborn photography craft. The point of all of this is to say that I find myself wanting to use the term “Baby as Art” all the time. It is so perfect. This baby is a work of art. Not just this photograph as art, but the little tiny one herself is a work of art.
