Fall is here! I can scream it from the rooftops, finally. Last year I captured this Winchester family in the outdoor fall foliage portraits you see below. During my once a year mini session weekends, I photograph dozens of families in the fall in the park. They are really so quick, that is the nature of them. But this family session was a full one and it was really nice to be able to spend time getting to know each child as I hadn’t met them before. This set of siblings were really sweet to each other, something I love to see.
In fact, one of my favorite sibling portraits from the session is the first image you see below. This brother and sister pair are together in the Radio Flyer red wagon, smiling up a storm! When I have plenty of time to spend with a family we certainly sit and get our posed family portraits. But then we are able to let loose and capture natural moments, like the ones below. In one Mom is being hugged and snuggled by her children. In another Dad is being (literally) tackled by his two little ones. These are the images that Mom ultimately decided to put on her walls as luck would have it.
A very cool thing about the park I tend to frequent is that there are lots of location choices. We have the option of an open field or the beach! With a full portrait session we are able to take full advantage of it all and explore together.
