When it comes to Massachusetts family pictures, Christmas cards are the perfect excuse to update yours! Year after year I get to catch up with “my” families and see how much their little ones have grown. And if I wasn’t already in the Christmas-y mood, this woodland setting would definitely get me there. I’ve dreamed of having a setting like this for years, but never had enough space in my studio. Thanks to my new, bigger studio in Andover, MA I was finally able to set up the winter wonderland of my dreams.
One of my favorite props to break out around the holidays is this Christmas Wish book. Children’s books have a certain magic to them, especially Christmas themed ones. They add a touch of nostalgia that I think works perfectly for Christmas photos. But for the little ones who are too young to read, I still have plenty of prop options. Woodland creatures have been known to stop by the studio. And check to see if you can find Santa Claus (it seems he traded in his sleigh for an airplane!)
Whether you’re looking for a full-blown woodland scene like this adorable brother-sister pair, or more of a homey feel like the little wooden bed, I have plenty of options. And you really can’t go wrong with either look.

I offer mini sessions a few times throughout the year, and Christmas is one of the big ones! These sessions are shorter than a typical session, lasting between 15-20 minutes. And over the years I’ve become a well oiled machine when it comes to making every minute count. Even though it might not seem like a long time, we get a ton accomplished. It’s even possible to get a shot of the whole family!

Displaying Your Portraits At Home
Often these Christmas mini sessions are for Christmas card photos. But I love the idea of displaying these portraits in your home! For one thing, if your little ones are anything like my girls, you don’t have them in formal wear very often.
