This Brookline 7 month old baby boy and his parents came to visit me this fall. I recently found his newborn photo blog post and was taken happily down memory lane. He is just as adorable at 7 months as he was a brand new baby, only a couple of weeks old. As time marches on I will get to see him again in a couple of months for his very first birthday portrait session and I hope, cake smash session 🙂

I chose a lot of black and white portraits to share for this blog post. Before I become a professional photographer, I thought, like most people probably do, that there was a color photograph and there was a black and white photograph. In my mind, you simply pressed a button and presto, all color was taken away. What I learned quickly was that there are hundreds of ways to process an image in to black and white. Dozens of factors to take in to account. I do love color photographs. Most of us see in color and I love being able to “remember” these details in photographs. The color of hair, lips, skin and eyes.

There is something very timeless and charming about black and white photos, isn’t there? This is why I offer both color and black and white versions of every hand edited image I send in my galleries. Options are good!
