Outdoor Family Pictures in Andover MA

Every year, I look forward to the fall. Because every fall, it’s all about outdoor family pictures near my Andover MA studio. Today’s families on the blog are both families that I’ve photographed before. I’ve talked on the blog about how some families become “my families” and these are two examples. It’s always great getting to meet new families and photographing their little ones, but it’s extra special when I get to meet up with these families again and again!

These two little ladies were great little models. And how adorable are they in their matching checkered shirts? The way that the pink pops against the fall foliage is great, especially next to mom and dad’s neutral outfits. Choosing outfits for family portraits can be a tricky task, but this family shows one great option. Having the parents both in neutrals and the little ones in a brighter colors allow the kids to be the stars of the show (not that there’s ever really a doubt about that!) But even if the kids are the stars, I like being able to snap a quick photo of mom and dad without the kids. Once kids are involved, mom and dad don’t have many options for a kid-free photo, so I’m happy to provide that.

There are so many adorable things to comment on with today’s second Andover family portraits, I don’t even know where to begin! How cute is little man in his button up shirt? And big sister’s pigtails are beyond precious. Since these portraits aren’t taken in my studio, I don’t have quite the same array of props and blankets available, but I make sure I have some options. With a mini session there’s less time for different backdrops and poses, so I make up for that with little details. The gray blanket isn’t just a comfortable place to sit, but it also adds a little coziness to the photo.
