Family Photos at Sunset on the Beach :: Reading MA Photographer
One of the greatest things about living, and working, in New England is having so many gorgeous outdoor locations for family photos. And of course having such distinct seasons is a lot of fun, too. Fall has always been my busiest time of year for outdoor family photos. Which is totally understandable if you’re familiar with fall foliage. Over the past few years, summer beach photos have become more and more popular. And I have to say, I still love fall foliage, but there is just something about family photos, on the beach, at sunset. The sky becomes magical. And there is something so fun about seeing families get their toes in the sand. Beach grass adds a little green. The sea and sky are perfect shades of blue. Puffy clouds. The pink streaks thanks to the setting sun. Everything about it is perfect for family photos!
This sweet Reading family was made up of mom, dad, two big brothers aged 12 and 9, and baby sister who was 1. I made sure to get some solo portraits of each kiddo, plus plenty of sibling photos. Baby sister got to be held and cuddled. And the whole family had lots of fun.
Styling Inspiration for Beach Family Pictures
The styling for this session is just as perfect as the beautiful location. Dad and both brothers wore matching blue button downs. Dad and younger brother had khaki shorts, while oldest brother had navy shorts to match mom’s navy dress. Little sister’s dress was a perfect color match to the shirts the boys were wearing. A monogram on the front added the perfect preppy New England touch. The outfits were the perfect blend of neutral and pop of color. Just enough color to pop against their surroundings, without ever clashing. A total win in my eyes!
